ALL PITT-BRADFORD AND PITT-TITUSVILLE ASN STUDENTS TAKING LICENSING EXAM PASS
BRADFORD, Pa. – One hundred percent of the Associate of Science in Nursing students at University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and its program at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville who took their licensing exam in the last year passed on the first try.
Dr. Jean Truman, associate professor of nursing and director of the nursing program, received the news earlier this month that 30 graduates had passed the National Council Licensure Exam – or NCLEX, as it is commonly referred to.
“We’re very proud of our graduates’ efforts and their accomplishments and happy to know that graduates of both our programs, ASN and RN-to-BSN, are filling a critical nursing need within the communities that we serve,” Truman said.
Nationally, 88% of students with an ASN degree passed the NCLEX the first time they took it. Those who pass are eligible to become registered nurses.
Nursing graduates from both the Bradford and Titusville campuses are employed in regional health care, including UPMC hospitals, Penn Highlands hospitals, Meadville Medical Center, Titusville Area Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital, Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Bradford Ecumenical Home, and Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital.
